Financial Control Associate Director
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
The purpose of this role is to own the Financial Control function of the Group, which encompasses automation, efficiencies, synergies, and cost savings in record-to-report, order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, and asset management. The geographical scope of the role will start in the Philippines and gradually expand to the rest of APAC.
You are expected to grow within the function and be developed to become a Director through the guidance of the VP for Finance, HR & Legal. You will report to the VP for Finance, HR & Legal and will champion efficiencies and bottom-line optimization. This person should be confident with technology and will use it to its full potential, knowing that repetitive tasks can be automated and internal and external systems can be integrated.
The ideal candidate understands the intricacies of finance and accounting and is comfortable working with numbers. This person will work closely with the function heads of commercials, operations, and business support, as well as the heads of the Finance & Legal team of the Group, advising them on different solutions, best practices, and relevant accounting and financial data.
Job responsibilities:
- Strategizes and develops effective cost-saving methodologies that ensure minimal revenue leakage.
- Manages vendors through strong partnerships and SOP compliance.
- Works closely with the Financial Planning & Analysis Lead, VP for Finance, HR & Legal, and the Demand & Supply Team in effectively managing stocks and their respective warehouse and 3PL allocations.
- Liaises with the People & Culture team in monitoring FTE and FTC norms and swiftly identifies points for automation.
- Leads the financial statement close process of the Group, including all associated regulatory filings, including tax and securities office reports
- Effectively communicates the performance results of the organization through management reports and investor reports
- Works closely with the various facets within commercials, operations, and business support, to identify and execute points for effectiveness and efficiencies.
- Provides timely review, feedback, escalation, and recommendations within the Finance Team.
- Performs ad-hoc requests from internal and external stakeholders, assists them with their finance queries, and provides relevant recommendations.
Requirements:
- At least 7 years experience in controllership and/or financial planning & analysis.
- Extensive work experience in FMCG, retail, distribution, eCommerce, and other technology businesses would be a plus.
- CMA and/or CPA certification is a plus.
- Experience in Oracle Netsuite and/or SAP is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to quickly adapt to new software and tools.
